Recalls of 2008 Nissan Armada

Recall 1

On 3rd September 2010, Nissan recalled certain vehicles belonging to model year 2005-2009 Titan, Armada, and Infiniti Qx56 vehicles.

There was an issue with the instrument panel fuel gauge displaying information inaccurately indicating that the vehicle still has some fuel, typically about one quarter tank, when the fuel tank is empty.

This could cause the vehicle to run out of gas and stall on the highway, which could cause a crash. Dealers were notified to replace the fuel sender unit inside the fuel tank with a new improved sender card.

This service was performed free of charge. Nearly, 340000 defective units participated in this recall.

Recall 2

On 2nd March 2010, Nissan recalled some of the 2008-2010 models of Titan, Armada, and Infiniti QX56, and model year 2008-2009 Nissan Quest vehicles.

The brake pedal pivot pin end was not spin-formed to specification during the manufacturing process of the brake pedal assembly.

The pivot pin could slide and cause the brake pedal to partially disengage from the brake pedal bracket. In such a situation, the driver will experience unusual and noticeable looseness in the pedal and a reduction in braking force increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers inspected to see if the pivot pin had been formed properly and replaced the brake pedal assembly if necessary free of charge. Approximately, 179383 vehicles were affected in this recall.

Instructions to Install DVD Player on 2010 Nissan Armada

Move the head of a flat-head screwdriver under the base of the dome light and pry the dome light out of its place gently until it is loosened to remove manually. Disconnect the wire harness from the dome light and put the wires into the ceiling nook. Keep the mounting bracket on the ceiling nook such that the bracket sits against the ceiling.

By using a carpenter’s knife, trace the bracket, which is surrounding headliner. Disconnect the bracket from the ceiling and then headliner. Pull out the wires from the ceiling nook and adjust them via the wire hole of the bracket. Grip the bracket on the ceiling nook and drill a hole in every corner of the bracket with a drilling machine. Tapping the machine make threaded holes to keep the screws in place. Pop in the mounting screws in the bracket and fasten them into the ceiling with a screwdriver. Connect the wire harness into the DVD player and move the DVD player onto the bracket until it locks in securely.

This procedure would have cleared all uncertainties regarding how to use DVD Player on 2010 Nissan Armada.

2005-2009 Nissan Armada Recall

Some of the vehicles manufactured during the above mentioned years were integrated with faulty fuel gauges; these gauges indicated that that the tank still had fuel (around 1/4th tank) even when it was absolutely empty. There were possibilities that such an issue could stall the vehicle on highways when it runs out of fuel. Dealers have taken the responsibility of replacing the fuel sender unit in the tank with an enhanced sender card.

2010 Nissan Armada Recall

Some of the Nissan Armada vehicles that were manufactured between 7th June, 2010 and 11th June, 2010 had an issue with the hinge assembly of the second row center seat as it did not meet the specifications. This may stop the seatback from completely locking in the upright position. In case of an accident, the passenger in that particular seat will be at a higher risk of injuries. Dealers will examine the hinges of the seat for proper functioning and replace it if necessary.
